About Us

Free Range Pork.

We pride ourselves on good old fashioned butchery and craft skills, producing most of what we sell from scratch apart from condiments and cheese.

The philosophy is simple, animals in one end, pies, sausages and oven ready items out the other!

This ensures minimum food miles and maximum traceability.

Salt Marsh Lamb from the Gower

Early in the season, normally June to November, our lamb is sourced from the Welsh Saltmarshes. The salt water grazing land, gives a light and subtle flavour to the meat and we offer complementary samphire when available. Welsh Hill Lamb takes over during the winter months before the arrival in the spring of West Country Lamb sourced from local farms. We also supply mutton, superb for tagines and curries.

Welsh Black Well Hung Beef from the Gower

We supply mature and tasty beef in the main from the Gower. This is reared specially for us from Welsh Black Cattle. This slow growing beef combined with traditional hanging of around six weeks produces a great taste and tender cuts.

Free Range Shropshire Pigs

Our pigs are sourced for us from D.G. Davies & Son, near Telford in Shropshire. They are a slow growing breed and have just the right level of fat and really firm juicy meat, unknown on the supermarket shelves. The healthy envionment removes the need for routine midication and growth promoters.

Free Range Chickens from Newent

We offer Free Range and Organic whole chickens. Free Range is locally sourced from farmers from Herefordshire using GM free foods with birds allowed to roam naturally. This combined with the longer rearing time improves the meat texture (how chicken used to taste).  Organic chickens are a slow growing breed, from Soil Association Lowerstock Farm, Winsford, outside Bristol.

Local Game

Much of the pheasant and partridge is from local shoots in season. We buy netted local rabbit from a couple of sources. Our venison is either local wild deer in season or farmed from the prize winning Welsh Venision Centre. We make our own game pies for eating cold, perfect for a party or picnic.

Wild Boar from the Forest Of Dean

We source our Wild Boar direct from the Forest of Dean. The supplies are inconsistent, so please check for availability, and we offer a range of traditional cuts.

Free Range Sausages and Burgers

Made using quality cuts from our Free Range meats with our own prize winning recipes. These are an instant delicious meal solution or great for the BBQ.  Our range covers all the usual favourites plus chorizo, boerwors, wild boar and cranberries, venison and more.

Homemade Pies

Our hot and cold pies are expertly prepared on our premises using our own raw materials, ensuring the best ingredients with a high meat content and low additives, giving a great taste. Favourites are our steak pies for hot eating, and cold eating game pies packed with flavour. We also make Lamb and Leek Pies and Turkey and Ham. Our Pork Pies contain old fashioned jelly.

Molesworth's Gluten Free Range

We also make GLUTEN FREE sausages, koftas and burgers available in a range of flavours. If you require a particular sausage making then we will be able to help. We stock a range of gluten free pastas, cous cous and biscuits.
